This draws a signature onto the page, like printing and signing. It is not a cryptographic digital signature.

About this tool
Somebody sends a contract and asks you to sign it. The usual routine is print, sign, scan, and hope the scanner is working — or upload a document you would rather not upload to a website you have not heard of. This lets you sign a pdf online free, without either — and without printing anything. You draw signature on pdf pages directly: sign with a mouse, a trackpad or a finger, then drag your signature to the spot where it belongs and download the signed file. You can put it anywhere: a signature line, a set of initials in a margin, a date box on the third page. The preview is not a mock-up of where it will land — it is the signed page itself, rendered as you move it. The whole thing happens in your browser. The contract is not uploaded, the signature is not uploaded, and nothing is stored — which matters more here than anywhere else on this site, because the two things involved are a document somebody wants you to agree to and a picture of your own name. One thing this is not, said plainly. It draws a picture of a signature onto the page. That is what almost everybody means by signing a PDF, and it is exactly what print-sign-scan has always produced: a mark saying a person agreed. It is not a cryptographic digital signature — nothing here proves who applied it or that the document has not been altered since. For a mortgage or a court filing you want a qualified e-signature provider with an audit trail. For the overwhelming majority of forms, leases and letters that ask for a signature, this is the same thing you would have posted back.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally binding signature?
In most places an electronic signature pdf carries the same weight as a handwritten one for ordinary agreements, and this produces the same thing a printed-signed-scanned copy does. What it does not produce is a *qualified* electronic signature with an identity check and an audit trail, which some transactions — property, wills, some court documents — specifically require. If a document tells you which kind it needs, believe the document.
Is my contract uploaded to your servers?
No, and this tool has no API for that reason. Everything happens in your browser: the PDF is read there, the signature is drawn there, and the signed file is produced there. Nothing is sent to us at any point. This is the one tool where offering a server-side version would undermine the thing people came for.
Can I put the signature anywhere on the page?
Yes. Press a page in the preview and the signature centres on that spot; keep pressing and drag to move it exactly where you want, on any page rather than just the last one. The size slider scales it. If you would rather not use a mouse, tab to the signature and the arrow keys nudge it a percent at a time — five with Shift — while plus and minus resize it and Page Up and Page Down move it between pages.
Can I use a photo of my real signature?
Not yet — this version is for drawing one. If you have a scan or a photo, our signature maker turns a drawn signature into a transparent PNG you can keep and reuse, which is the piece that would make an upload useful here. Tell us on the contact page if that is what you need.
Will it cover up the text underneath?
The signature is drawn with a transparent background, so only the ink lands on the page and the line you are signing above stays visible. Make it smaller if it overlaps something it should not — and you are not guessing: the preview shows the signed page itself, produced the same way the file you download is, so what you see is what is in it.
Can somebody remove my signature afterwards?
Somebody with a PDF editor can remove it, exactly as somebody with a scanner and an eraser could alter a paper document. That is a property of documents, not of this tool. If a signature must be tamper-evident, you need a qualified provider that seals the file cryptographically.
How do I sign a PDF without printing it?
This is exactly that. To sign pdf without printing, drop the file in, draw your name in the box and drag the signature to where it belongs — no printer, no scanner, and no posting anything back. It is the same result as print-sign-scan with none of the steps.
Can I add signature to PDF pages other than the last one?
Yes. You can add signature to pdf pages anywhere in the document — press whichever page you want it on, or move it there with Page Up and Page Down. Initialling several pages means running it once per page for now; if that is a common need for you, say so on the contact page.
